This image is known as the Hubble Ultra Deep Field, it was taken using the Hubble telescope and looks further than any other image of our universe. Every object in the image is an entire galaxy, each containing anything up to 100 trillion stars. Because of the amount of time light takes to travel to Earth we know that we’re seeing the furthest galaxies as they existed around 13 billion years ago, only a relatively short amount of time after the Big Bang created the universe as we know it. I love how small that all makes me feel!
my phone background. make me giddy whenever I look at it!
